Job Description
- Works closely with business stakeholders to design data modeling processes, create algorithms and predictive models, and help analyze the data to ensure shared insights adhere to the business needs.
- Suggest ways in which insights obtained might be used to assist in having an informed business decision.
- Collect and clean data from various entities for later use by junior data scientists.
- Select and utilize advanced statistical procedures to obtain actionable insights.
- Responsible for cross-validation between different data sources to ensure their generalizability and consistency of datasets.
- Produce and disseminate non-technical reports that detail the successes and limitations of each project.
- Stay up to date with the developments and best practices in Data Science and adjacent fields to ensure that outputs are always relevant.
- Assist the Corporate Senior Data Science & BI Lead in monitoring the performance of Junior Data Scientists to ensure the successful completion of projects and provide them with practical guidance (if needed).
- Ensure compliance with all applicable AML/CTF rules and regulations as required in the conduct of the role.
- Ensure timely completion of all relevant AML/CTF training provided by the Group.
- Ensure response to AML, CTF & sanctions inquiries in a timely manner.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology.
- 3 – 5 years of experience in data science.
- Strong problem-solving skills with an emphasis on product development.
- Experience in several coding languages: C, C++, Java, JavaScript, etc.
- Experience in statistical and data mining techniques: GLM/Regression, Random Forest, Boosting, Trees, text mining, social network analysis, etc.
- Experience in query databases and statistical computer languages: R, Python, SLQ, etc.
- Experience in web services: Redshift, S3, Spark, Digital Ocean, etc.
- Experience in creating and using advanced machine learning algorithms and statistics: regression, simulation, scenario analysis, modeling, clustering, decision trees, neural networks, etc.
- Experience in analyzing data from 3rd party providers: Google Analytics, Site Catalyst, Core metrics, AdWords, Crimson Hexagon, Facebook Insights, etc.
- Experience in distributed data/computing tools: Map/Reduce, Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Gurobi, MySQL, etc.
- Experience in visualizing/presenting data for stakeholders using: Periscope, Business Objects, D3, Ggplot, etc.
- Experience in working with and creating data architectures.
- Knowledge of a variety of machine learning techniques (clustering, decision tree learning, artificial neural networks, etc.) and their real-world advantages/drawbacks.
- Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and concepts (regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests, and proper usage, etc.) and experience with applications.
- Good command of Arabic and English.
- Good communication skills (written, verbal and listening).
- Able to build partnerships and work well in teams.
- Can identify problems and refer/escalate complex issues to a higher level.
- Attention to details; ensure deliverables are always of a high quality.
- Able to work effectively under pressure and tight deadlines
