Job Description

  • The incumbent will be responsible to review documentation against Islamic finance facilities to ensure all underlying transactions & documentations are in line with Shariah Guidelines.
  • Preparation of Commodity Murabaha contracts along with booking of Shariah approved commodities using treasury platform.
  • Prepare Commodity Murabaha contracts against Islamic Finance Murabaha/Com. Murabaha approved facilities.
  • Ensure Shariah approved formats as standard or client specific is being used while contract preparations.
  • Ensure no errors while booking TCM commodities deals against Commodity Murabaha contracts.
  • Ensure no errors while preparation of Commodity Murabaha Contracts for further finalization and executions.
  • Ensure no errors while facilities charges and related reconciliations.
  • Review & guide all Trade and Wholesale credit finance teams on Islamic facilities and review their transactions to identify if any issues/errors from transactional perspectives against agreed Shariah Guidelines.
  • Understanding of Corporate/FI/TR/Export loans, Repayment schedule and Interest calculations.
  • Prepare Process notes, SOPs and Process Checklist.
  • Ensure all procedures that are developed comply with Bank Policy and Guidelines.
  • Review customer complaints and take immediate action to satisfy them.
  • Ensure MBOs achieved on time.
  • Exercise due diligence in checking applications particularly for Priority Customers, High value transactions.
  • Ensure SLA adherence. All processing should be as per SOP/OPM’s and UCP/ISBP as applicable and approved as Product Program. Charges recovery to be as per the extant guidelines.
  • Perform sanction checking of relevant parties in documents, checks related to TBML
  • Handle Commodity Trade Operations documents
  • Ensure no unattended reconciliation entries pending in Nostro or Internal accounts on daily basis.
  • Ensure cross skilling for entire team in at least 2 more products.
  • Preparation of Process Guidelines, Standard Operating Procedures and Checklists. And ensure no gaps while implementation of new processes.

Job Requirements

  • Graduate with thorough and in depth understanding of Islamic Finance (Comm. Murabaha, Ijarah, Wakala, Musharakah…., etc.) & Trade products and functions.
  • Thorough understanding of Swift, Trade Finance and Financial Operating Systems.
  • General Banking knowledge and experience of working with banking operations team.
  • A Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in handing Islamic Finance products, Trade and Wholesale finance products.
  • Strong Communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word/Excel/PPT) and comfortable to work on multiple banking/financial soft wares.
  • Attentive to details, strong analytical skills and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work under pressure, excellent organizational skills and good team player.
