Job Description

  • Develops m recommends & approves strategies to maximize recovery, and reduce risk and losses. Ensures effective restructuring, recovery and charge-off of adversely graded loans.
  • Create & implement action plans for resolving problem loan weaknesses & defaults including restructuring, legal actions, settlements.
  • Negotiate with relevant stakeholders to arrive at the best possible resolutions.
  • Analyze collateral value & review their conducted appraisals.
  • Analyze non-performing and impaired or potentially non-performing and impaired transactions. This includes financial and legal due diligence and analysis; interaction with senior management of obligor/investee; construction of financial and valuation models as required; as well as other essential tasks.
  • Determine, document and present the best course of action in terms of exit strategy (e.g. sale, restructuring, liquidation, or any combination thereof) in the form of a Problem Account Memorandum to the respective approval authority within the Bank.
  • Supervise in executing the approved workout strategy. Initiate and contribute to all phases of the corporate recovery process in conjunction with all stakeholders involved.
  • Prepare corporate recovery plans to include recommendations on when to realize losses, release any rights/security interests, and make material changes in transactions.
  • Overcome unexpected difficulties and challenges to produce desired outcomes.
  • Share knowledge on new recovery best practice trends in similar situations.
  • Ensure that released approvals are in line with Central Bank of Egypt regulations as well as the bank’s policies & procedures.
  • Identify in a timely manner credit assets that may be moved to classified status in order to minimize loan provisioning.
  • Identify problem lending situations and recommend appropriate corrective action to minimize losses and maximize recoveries. Make recommendations for provisions as and when needed.
  • Display a mature approach that leads to a balanced Risk & Reward equation for the bank.
  • Assisting Head of Corporate Credit Risk in analyzing CBG credit portfolio depending on the department’s workload.
  • Ensures that appropriate credit risk ratings are assigned to the borrowers & are effectively communicated to Business Team.
  • Performing a risk assessment, analyzing current risks & identifying potential risks that are affecting the company.
  • Acts as secretary to Risk co as well as other credit committees as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • University Graduate.
  • Wide Experience of at least 10 years with experience in managing corporate and capital restructurings, including but not limited to remedial management activities such as debt re-profiling, recapitalization, pre-and post-default operational restructuring, distressed asset management, sale and liquidation.
  • Good knowledge of other areas including but not limited to SMEs, loan documentation, banking operations, accounting and some understanding of treasury and capital market products, local banking laws and working knowledge of legal issues attached to corporate lending.
  • Well aware of Egyptian Market & Central Bank Regulations.
  • Thorough understanding of bank policies, credit parameters, regulations.
  • Knowledge of political & business environment in the country.
  • Good people management skills.
  • Excellent command over spoken and written English.
  • Proactive, strong team player and the will to implement changes.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation.
  • Familiarity with industry best practice in corporate recovery and corporate restructuring.
