Job Description

  • Patrol assigned areas to ensure a visible security presence and deter unauthorized activities.
  • Monitor surveillance cameras, alarms, and access control systems to detect and respond to security threats.
  • Enforce access control policies by checking identification, verifying credentials, and authorizing entry.
  • Conduct regular security checks of premises, including doors, windows, and perimeters, to identify vulnerabilities and take corrective actions.
  • Respond promptly to security alarms, incidents, and emergencies; take appropriate action and escalate as needed.
  • Provide a high level of customer service to employees, customers, and visitors, addressing inquiries and assisting with directions.
  • Report security incidents, accidents, and violations accurately and promptly, documenting relevant details.
  • Conduct routine inspections of security equipment and systems to ensure proper functioning.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of security procedures, guidelines, and protocols.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency services as required during incidents or emergencies.
  • Escort employees, customers, or visitors when needed to ensure their safety and security.
  • Assist in the training and orientation of new security personnel.
  • Maintain accurate records and logs of security activities, incidents, and investigations.
  • Attend regular security meetings and training sessions to stay updated on security procedures and best practices.
  • Monitor and enforce parking regulations, issuing warnings or citations as necessary.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in security or law enforcement is a plus.
  • Proven work experience as a security officer or in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of security operations and procedures.
  • Strong observation and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations and emergencies calmly and effectively.
  • Excellent customer service skills and a friendly demeanor

  • The Security Officer works in shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • The role involves standing, walking, and patrolling throughout the shift. The officer may be exposed to various weather conditions and must be prepared to respond to emergencies at any time.
