Job Description

  • Prepare credit review analysis reports and requested AFLs according to the approved templates in the Credit Policy Manual for the assigned FI relationships including detailed write up, risk, financial statement analysis and sector review etc.
  • Preparing all memos to be signed by the correspondent banking department
  • Ensure securing proper levels of approvals related to each FI limits/Transactions.
  • Ensure up to date maintenance of credit files.
  • Interact with other teams/divisions e.g. Credit, operations, Treasury, Operational & Market Risk and Credit Admin for service delivery, exchanging information, support ideas and MIS requirements.
  • Prepare all requested reports requested from Financial Institutions Department and collecting all data, performing requested analysis.
  • Abiding by CBE guidelines and EGBANK policies and procedures.
  • Preparing Country Limits Report to identify the credit limit granted for each country, according to its GDP and international rating agencies.
  • Follows up on banks’ and countries’ economic and political situations and Industry changes, through watching the impacts that may affect the bank’s decision to either operate with the impacted banks and countries or not and inform the team with any material changes.
  • Reply to inward requests received from banks, financial and non-financial institutions, either through direct contact or through liaising with other departments.
  • Secure the connections with correspondent banks through helping in establishing encrypted messages through RMA in coordination with Swift and Compliance department.
  • Directing Letters of Credit (LCs) and Letters of Guarantees (LGs) to correspondent banks.
  • Accepting/ confirming Letters of Credit (LCs) and Letters of Guarantees (LGs) received from other correspondent banks, and to make sure of the availability of limits extended to the correspondent, and prepare a financial study to the banks that has no limits.
  • Updates Standard Settlement Instructions (SSI) List with necessary modifications.
  • Updates EGBank’s data on Bankers Almanac and SWIFT.
  • Suggesting opening Nostro Accounts with correspondents in local and/or foreign currencies in the light of EGBank’s needs for new correspondent accounts, and that’s through comparing between the presented offers from the different correspondent banks and choose the most suitable offer.
  • Works on maximizing revenues and minimizing costs of Nostro Accounts.
  • Studies requests received from correspondent banks to open Vostro Accounts. In addition to acquire all the required (Know Your Customer) documents in that’s in cooperation with Compliance division.
  • Replies for EGBank’s branches’ and credit department’s inquiries regarding the direction of Letters of Credit (LCs) and Letters of Guarantee (LGs).
  • Assist all EGBank’s different branches and departments in solving issues with local and foreign banks.
  • Prepares and executes all required studies and reports requested by EGBank’s senior management and direct managers from reliable channels and sources of information.
  • Help in establishing new relations with other correspondent banks and in accordance with bank needs to ensure achieving the requested financial targets.
  • Annual renewal for signed contracts with external services providers (Orbis Bank Focus, Bankers Almanac, Legal Entity Identifier, Corporation Service Company (CSC)).
  • Checking on all contracts and agreements received by the department and taking necessary approvals on it.
  • Ensure full compliance and adherence to policies, procedures, regulatory/internal regulations, related to any transactions executed.
