Job Description

  • Responsible for the availability, performance and security of Applications in the production environment for business and other functions.
  • Responsible for implementation and maintenance of all in-country data centers and infrastructure such as servers, Networks, storage devices, external connectivity gateways, Telephony systems etc.
  • Engage with various teams on new initiatives/rollouts/problem resolutions.
  • Participate in all forums requiring technology presence.
  • Be an interface between business/operations stakeholders and all other technology domains
  • Country technology budget management and performance to be tracked on a monthly basis
  • Manage Technology Vendors and service providers,  including contracts, procurements and payments, Service review meetings
  • Enable support for key Technology initiatives/risks in the Country
  • Drive the country agenda Technology product launches, system enhancements, problem/risk resolutions etc.
  • Conduct service review meetings with ITSC, PSS and other domains as and when needed.
  • Advise on potential technology risk areas and work out action plans to address them.
  • Address ICS vulnerabilities in the country infrastructure.
  • Support all locally hosted business/regulatory applications.
  • Own and implement the Service Improvement initiatives for systems performance and stability
  • Be the single management point of contact for high severity incidents and ensure issues are resolved promptly. Coordinate with ITSC, OTS, PSS,  networks as appropriate.
  • Ensure root cause analysis is completed for all high severity incidents and preventative actions are defined and implemented.
  • Review change requests made by business and approve and progress them with appropriate teams.
  • Review and manage implementation of all changes to ensure no risk to stability of systems / infrastructure.
  • Participate in PSCs and/or working groups for in country major projects.
  • Comply with the Policies and Risk guidelines as applicable in Technolog
  • Develop the staff and vendor team in Egypt and get them multi skilled across all applications and infrastructure in the country.
  • Ensure the direct reports complete the e-learnings before the due date and abide by the code of conduct
  • Be a Mentor to others
  • Provide leadership and support to local applications in UAE and 7 middle east countries totalling over 20 mission critical applications.
  • Identify and nominate staff for external or internal training conducted by Axess Academy
  • Work with the ICS teams towards compliance of applications as per ICS standards
  • Continually undertake fixes for vulnerabilities as and when they are identified by the group
  • Identify and address obsolescence on the platforms running the applications
  • Co-ordinate with the Risk manager and other teams for raising and updating the risks
  • Engage with HICS team to provide updates on risks identified in the country ICS forums
  • Advise on potential risk areas and work out action plans to address them
  • Ensure the applications and its related processes are aligned to the group’s strategic direction
  • Any new applications should consider ‘Cloud First’ option for hosting the application subject to country compliance
  • Identify opportunities to centralise and consolidate applications
  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across the unit.
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
  • Conduct regular SLA review meetings with vendors in compliance with the group vendor management framework.
  • Ensure engagement with regulators is as per the protocol applicable for Egypt.

  • The role is to co-ordinate IT Service Delivery in Egypt. Decisions need to be made to taking into account local business and technical issues.
  • The job spans various business and support functions in Egypt and needs to balance the demands of the business with the overall IT Strategy of the Group.
  • The jobholder needs initiative, diplomacy, patience and a pragmatic approach to problems.
  • Judgement is called for when operational issues are likely to impact the business and effective decision-making skills are called for especially in case of major failures and contingencies
